WSO2 unveils developer platform for OpenChoreo 1.0
WSO2 today is announcing that its Developer Platform for OpenChoreo 1.0, is now available. OpenChoreo is an open-source CNCF Sandbox project designed for platform engineers to build Kubernetes- and cloud-native internal developer platforms.
The WSO2 platform enables teams to run OpenChoreo projects, but with stability, security and architectural guidance, the company said in a blog post announcing the release. OpenChoreo is the evolution of WSO2’s Choreo developer platform, and does not change the core project but adds enterprise support and guidance for running projects in production. The company chose the CNCF to oversee the project “to ensure vendor-neutral governance and long-term sustainability for the community,” it said in the blog.
According to WSO2, organizations attempting to build a production-grade development platform face such challenges such as managing Kubernetes complexity while keeping the developer experience simple; integrating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, observability, security and policy tools; and supporting AI-driven automation and future workloads.
OpenChoreo 1.0 provides platform APIs and abstractions as building blocks; integrated observability; built-in agents for SRE, cost control and architecture; and the ability to meet compliance and governance requirements.
The platform supports Argo Workflows, OpenSearch and Open Telemetry, Prometheus and WSO2 API Gateway.
